Creating a Database in Eon Mode
Vertica provides three fulfillment methods that use CloudFormation Templates (CFTs) in the AWS Marketplace.
- Deploy Management Console into new VPC
- Deploy Management Console into existing VPC
- Management Console with 3 Vertica nodes
To deploy a Vertica Management Console on an AWS instance, use one of the first two fulfillment methods. The CFT that powers these two fulfillment methods prompts you for options that provision an AWS EC2 instance with the Management Console running on it.
- Using the Management Console interface, create and configure an Eon Mode database. The Management Console provisions the AWS EC2 instances for you.
- Configure and start your new Eon Mode database. For more information on creating databases using the Management Console, see Provision a New Vertica Cluster and Database on AWS Resources.
To provision the Management Console running on a first AWS EC2 instance and provision a three-node Eon Mode database cluster running on an additional three AWS EC2 instances, use the third fulfillment method: Management Console with 3 Vertica nodes.
Use the Management Console to monitor and manage your Eon Database.
Important: Eon Mode databases can only be created on clusters residing on AWS resources.
