Curious about Vertica? Check out the Vertica Community Edition VM! It’s a free, quick, and an easy hands-on introduction.

In the VM, you’ll find everything up and running. You won’t have any setup to do. You’ll find a single-node installation of Vertica Community Edition with the VMart example database, the Vertica client tools, and a tutorial to help you get started using the client tools.

You will learn how to use:

Vertica Management Console: Browser-based database administration and query processing.

• Vertica Administration Tools:
Database administration with scripting capabilities in a Linux shell.

• Vsql:
Command-line interface for processing SQL commands and meta-commands.

To download the VM, go to vertica.com and click Product -> Download -> Community Edition. Then follow the download and startup instructions that are posted with the VM. If you’d like to take a look at the tutorial exercises in advance, click here.
