This newsletter -- delivered by email to subscribers -- provides information helpful for Vertica customers and those interested in the benefits of the Vertica Analytic Database..
New Product: Vertica “Corinthian” Preview Release Available…
A preview edition of the next release of the Vertica Analytic Database (codenamed “Corinthian”) is available for download to customers and evaluators from the Vertica V-Zone: www.vertica.com/download
The focus of the Corinthian release is to deliver a high degree of ANSI SQL-92 compatibility and set the stage for SQL-99 enhancements in follow-on releases. There are also numerous ease of use and integration-related enhancements.
The final release will become generally available this fall. New features in the preview release include:
- Nested sub-queries
- New join types (Outer, cross, self, and others…)
- Set operators (Union, Union All)
- VarChar long string support
- ODBC/ADO.Net/JDBC enhancements
- Plus a large number of other customer-requested enhancements.
